BOCA is a high-energy cover band based in Southside Hampton Roads, known for powerhouse vocals, ear-grabbing solos, and a setlist that spans decades and genres. Whether it’s a dance-floor classic, a throwback anthem, or a modern hit, BOCA brings every song to life with their own unique spin. More than just a band, BOCA is all about connection — with each other, with the music, and most of all, with the crowd. Every show is crafted to get people moving, singing, and feeling like part of something electric. At their core, they’re a family of musicians who love what they do, and they’re here to make sure the audience is having just as much fun as they are.

Anna's been writing songs since she was five - tucked in a closet with a pencil, a wall, and a lot of feelings. From church solos to karaoke nights, and eventually fronting BOCA, music has always been her way of making sense of the world. These days she brings that same heart to every performance, blending emotion, energy, and just enough grit. Whether she's onstage with the full band or adding her acoustic guitar to a stripped-down set, Anna shows up fully, every time.
Swarley
Anna founded BOCA because other forms of revenge against other musicians were deemed illegal. She keeps her fellow band members in check with acts of random violence and concerning eye contact. According to Anna, everything you've done is wrong. Get over it. When she isn't singing, you can usually find her singing. Her and Tyler are parents. That should terrify you.
Tyler Holden
Tyler, referred to as "the Drummer of Passion" by local music connoisseur Alex Best, has been playing drums for 16 years. From concert band, to jazz bands, to steel drum bands, to drumline, Tyler has a wide experience with a variety of genres and styles. Born into a lineage of music lovers, his deep appreciation for music has been a constant his whole life. BOCA has reignited this fervor for music and has given Tyler the opportunity to draw from his wide range of musical tastes and experiences for a fresh take on the music BOCA plays.
Holden
Tyler plays drums for BOCA because Anna told him to. He does, however, have the power to make arbitrary decisions about tempo. He has a day job as an engineer, and if you contribute to our tip jar we will provide you with a list of boats to avoid. Unlike everyone else in BOCA, he's just a regular white guy. He even likes golf.
Mark Dandridge Jr.
BOCA's lead keyboardist, Mark, began his musical journey at age 11 in Richmond, VA, when his family said: "You look like Louie Armstrong so you should play the trumpet." For the next 16 years, Mark developed a passion for music and has used that passion to become a "Jack of All Trades" musician. Eventually his passion lead to minoring in Music Performance at ODU right here in the 757. From brass instruments, to guitar, home recording, and now keyboards, Mark takes his passion to the stage with BOCA. Mark is also married to his wife Leigh, whom he met at ODU in the music program, they share a love for music.
Dandridge
Mark is better than you. He's a better keyboard player. He's a better music writer. He's a better human. You should probably give up. He makes the most extraordinary stink-face when he attacks a solo and gets in "the zone." The keytar is once-again relevant because of Mark. Apologies to those of you who hated the 1980s.
Sid Bridge
Over the last 30 years, Sid Bridge has played bass for numerous bands in genres including classic rock, blues, country, folk, and alternative. Sid's influences include Duck Dunn, Bootsy Collins, John Paul Jones, and Geddy Lee. No stranger to the stage, Sid has carved out a following in southeastern Virginia as a stand-up comic. A co-founder of Geek Night Comedy, Sid has performed on numerous occasions at the Virginia Beach Funny Bone, and at Cozzy's, where he has headlined and serves as emcee for open mic shows.
Sidster
Originally discovered on the safe and reputable Craigslist at the band's formation, Sid is BOCA's lead bass player and chief funny man. He is occasionally replaced by our backup bass player, Mark's left hand, whenever Sid is out busy opening a comedy show for a real comedian. In his down time, Sid is the commander of a large platoon of soldiers which he has aptly nicknamed "his children." Catch him plucking the strings on his extensive and color coded collection of various basses.
Afonso Meireles
Afonso discovered his guitar calling at nine years old in Portugal, after a failed youth soccer stint making him trade cleats for picks. Influenced by some of the guitar greats, his playing fuses the melodic clarity of Carlos Santana, the controlled chaos of Jimi Hendrix, and the emotive nuances of B.B. King into a style of his own. Today he pulls from a wide range of genres that span his eclectic taste, from rock to indie to soul pop, adding to the blend of genres that characterizes the sound of BOCA.
Fonso
The newest member of BOCA, Afonso HAS NO "L" IN HIS FIRST NAME. HOW DID YOU NOT SEE THIS?! He's very chill. He just likes to sit back on stage and rip out a guitar solo that will make you feel bad about yourself for not accomplishing things in life. He only has two guitars, but we're working on that.
